Chuck Palahniuk
We are excited to announce the addition of award-winning author Chuck Palahniuk to our lineup of featured writers for our upcoming series!
Chuck Palahniuk is a New York Times Number One Bestselling Author of dark, transgressional fiction, known for books such as Fight Club (later made into a film by David Fincher, starring Brad Pitt and Edward Norton), Invisible Monsters, Choke (later made into a film by Clark Gregg, starring Angelica Houston and Sam Rockwell), as well as graphic novels, adult coloring books, and short fiction.
Along with 27 other books, his most recent include the novels Adjustment Day and the horror satire Not Forever, but for Now, available September 2023.
Chuck is a five-time Bram Stoker nominee. He was nominated for his novel Beautiful You, edited anthology Burnt Tongues, fiction collection Haunted, short story "Guts" (considered one of the most disturbing short stories ever written), and novel Lullaby, which was a recipient of the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association Award. Fight Club received that same recognition, as well as the Oregon Book Award for Best Novel, of which he was also nominated for his novel Survivor. His short story "Romance" was adapted to a short film, and his novels Lullaby and Rant are in the works as feature films.
His writing style is influenced by authors such as the minimalist Tom Spanbauer, Amy Hempel, Thom Jones, and philosophers like Michael Foucault, Friedrich Nietzsche, and Albert Camus, and he prefers to "write in verbs instead of adjectives" as well as "choruses." Many of his characters are philosophical, often offering odd theories or opinions, and considered misanthropic or darkly absurdist in nature.
“The voices never leave, until you leave them.”
