We are excited to announce the addition of award-winning author Gabino Iglesias to our lineup of featured writers for our upcoming series!

Gabino Iglesias is a writer, journalist, professor, and literary critic living in Austin, Texas. He is the author of ZERO SAINTS, COYOTE SONGS, and THE DEVIL TAKES YOU HOME. He is also the editor of BOTH SIDES, HALLDARK HOLIDAYS, and FOUND: A Found Footage Anthology, co-edited with Andrew Cull.  

His work has been nominated for the Bram Stoker Award three times, twice for the Locus Award, as well as the Anthony, Edgar, Reading the West, and Shirley Jackson Award. Iglesias won the Wonderland Book Award for Best Novel in 2019, and the Authors on the Air Award for Best Horror Novel. In 2021, he received the Horror Writers Association Diversity Grant, and in 2023 the Bram Stoker Award for Superior Achievement in a Novel, becoming the first Latino to ever do so.  

His nonfiction has appeared in the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, Electric Literature, and LitReactor. His work has been published in several languages and optioned for film, and his reviews appear regularly in places such as NPR, the Boston Globe, Mystery Tribune, Vol. 1 Brooklyn, the Los Angeles Review of Books, and other print and online venues.  

He has served as a juror for the Shirley Jackson Awards twice and has judged the PANK Big Book Contest, the Splatterpunk Awards, the Newfound Prose Prize, the 2021 FIU Student Literary Awards, and the Larry Brown Short Story Award, among others. He has offered writing workshops through the Writers' League of Texas, the Lighthouse Writers Workshop, HubCity Press, the Las Vegas Writers Lounge, Stories on Stage Sacramento, and other institutions, and has offered keynote speeches at various universities and events, including the Lighthouse Book Project, ARRTCon, the inaugural POP_UP Academic Conference on Popular Culture, and the Revolve Creative Conference. 

Iglesias is a member of the Horror Writers Association, the Mystery Writers of America, and the National Book Critics Circle. He also teaches creative writing at Southern New Hampshire University's online MFA program. Find him on Twitter at @Gabino_Iglesias.
